    The pitta ‘mpogliata is a typical Calabrian dessert, very popular in the province of Cosenza.

    It is a dessert prepared, in much of Calabria, on the occasion of the Christmas holidays.
    It contains simple and poor ingredients and during the Christmas period it was consumed in place of the famous panettone that was once not known in the regions of southern Italy.
    The dessert is also identified with the name of pitta ‘nchiusa or pitta’ mpiglita.
