Italian GRAPPA Barricade. Aged in wooden barrels, so called barricaded grappa.
Unlike young (not aged) grappas, the barricaded grappa, following the distillation process, must undergo aging in wooden barrels.
Aging consists in preserving the distillate, for a certain period, in wooden barrels or barriques. Typically oak, ash and cherry. These barrels have not been waterproofed because obviously it would prevent the distillate enrichment process.

The term barrique means a wooden barrel of French origin, with a capacity of between 225 and 228 liters. Above all, they are used for the fermentation or aging of wine. Born as a unit of measurement of volume (about 225 liters). In fact the peculiarity of the barrique lies in the ability to allow a greater oxygenation of the content by virtue of the more favorable volume / contact surface ratio than the larger barrels.
We manufacture both Italian GRAPPA Barricade and other distillates, long aded organic grappas.
