GUTTURNIO SUPERIORE DOC Montemartini
GRAPE: blend of Barbera and Croatina, sourced exclusively from our vineyards in Ziano Piacentino.
VITICULTURE: Cordon trained, spur pruning system with a planting density of 4000 plants per hectare.
PRODUCTION: Grapes are hand-picked in October. They are then pressed, followed by alcoholic fermentation and skin maceration for 4-6 days at a temperature of 26 °C. Malolactic fermentation and subsequent decanting to facilitate clarification. The wine is matured in a tank for 6 months and bottled at the end of winter after having achieved the required tartaric stabilisation.
ORGANOLEPTIC FEATURES
COLOUR: bright ruby red.
FRAGRANCE: intense and grapey with notes
of red fruits and light hints of vanilla and liquorice. FLAVOUR: velvety, medium bodied, savoury
and elegantly balanced.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 13%vol.
FOOD PAIRINGS: Perfect with second courses of roasted and braised red meats. Also excellent alone or with aperitifs
of cured meats and cheese.
