Vendor Biography

The Monte Monaco farm business Ltd. became reality thanks to Vittorio Petrelli – a traditional farming enthusiast – who has devoted himself to researching and developing a process aimed at the production of aliments made with 100% organic legume flour, cultivated on organic located in the Sibillini Mountains area. Vittorio, driven by his love for the environment and all human beings, succeeded in creating – with chickpeas, lentils, broad beans and peas from his terrains – a food line rich in those nutritional properties that nature spontaneously gives to us. This is achieved through the adoption of sustainable, eco-friendly cultivation practices. Vittorio talked about his project with his two business consultants, Franco Jommi and Andrea Marziali, who believe in the possibility of creating a business which can involve an entire territory: exactly the one the three of them belong to, and the one the 2016 earthquake has weakened and made its population drift apart . This might seem a paradox, but thanks to the earthquake, today the MonteMonaco farm business is alive. Indeed, Victorio’s experience and know-how would still be just a simple idea if they hadn’t committed to Hugo Testa’s aim: he is an Argentinian entrepreneur, who, in those days after the powerful October earthquake, directly asked to his friend Franco to help him do something for those territories he had visited in July and that impressed him very much. Being aware of the affection that grew between Hugo’s family and the Marche region, Franco suggested him participate in the legume pasta project that Vittorio, Andrea and him were working on. Hugo did not lose time: he flew from Cordoba to Marche in order to become the founder of the Monte Monaco Ltd. farm business. The company, located in the small mountain town of the same name, inside the National Park of Sibillini Mountains, is built on these important themes, from the encounter of true businessmen who love their territory and culture.
