Craft Beers from Italy by Labeerinto Brewery – Craft Beer Dedalo – Weizen.
White beers, called Weizen even in Italy, are all beers brewed with top fermentation like other ales with the difference that they are made with a mixture of two grains; barley and wheat. (In Germany at least 50% wheat malt). White beers feature a cloudy, milky white color, a fruity, citrusy, spiced aroma, an acidic finish, and very low alcohol content (about 3%-5%), making them very refreshing beers. Perfect for the summer and enjoyable…anytime! They are usually unfiltered or, if they are, it is specified on the label, thus their cloudy appearance.
How do you identify a Weizen?
A pale beer, at most amber-coloured, thick head.
To each beer its own glass
They are usually served in classic 0.5L glasses – tall, narrow, no handle, with a slight bulge, and narrower at the bottom.
